SFI Australia are proud to announce the appointment of Adrian Byrne and Mike Sheppard.
Adrian and Mike both join the SFI family to further establish SFI’s commitment to the Western Australian market ensuring a clear focus on SFI’s new and existing clients.
With a clear vision of delivering Zero Downtime for their clients, SFI General Manager Brad Thomas says ‘Growing our presence in Western Australia is a natural progression for SFI. We are committed to ensuring our existing clients have quick, reliable access to experts in the field for critical maintenance shutdowns and large infrastructure projects.’

Adrian Byrne joins the SFI Australia team as Head of Sales, formerly working with Entity Solutions where he worked with tier one mining companies engaging workforce solutions. Adrian was accountable for growing and managing Entity Solutions’ regional branches in Western Australia, Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
Born in Melbourne, at an early age Adrian’s parents moved to Perth for business. After completing his studies Adrian relocated to Broome as a Pearl Diver, working onshore and then diving commercially.
After two years away from Perth, the desire to work internationally and travel the world soon took hold and Adrian embarked on a global working holiday, gaining valuable insight into different cultures, and building foundations for strong people management, customer service and sales.
Fast forward back to Australian shores, Adrian joined alcoholic beverage company, Swift & Moore, quickly becoming State Sales Manager. After many years he moved across to Premium Beverages (Budweiser) to set up distribution throughout Australia, and when Premium Beverages, merged with Coopers Brewery, Adrian became the Western Australia & Queensland State Manager, progressing to National Sales and Marketing Manager.
With several principal management roles under his belt, Adrian brings a depth of senior leadership experience to SFI Australia and commits his energy to positively influencing the customer management and business development practices of both SFI and businesses in the fields of mining and construction.
Beginning in the industry as a Boilermaker Mike quickly established a successful engineering company in New South Wales. Comprising a range of light and heavy industries in both construction and the private sectors, Mike was exposed to the real-world challenges of working on-site and had great exposure to a multi-cultural and diverse work force.
Since this time, Mike and his family have established themselves in Western Australia where his wife was born and her immediate family live. For the past 14 years Mike has worked all over WA and NT within the oil, gas and iron ore industry, working his way through the ranks as Site Superintendent, Site Manager to now Operations Manager with SFI Australia.
In this time Mike has spent several years on offshore facilities like FPSO and rig platforms for some of the largest oil and gas producers in the world. Onshore Mike continued his work for the major gas plant and iron ore construction builds in Onslow, Karratha, Newman, Cloudbreak and Darwin.
Mike highlights ‘For me, the key points to being successful leader is understanding and listening to your work force and staff. Having a calm and level-headed approach to solving problems in high stress situations, sound awareness of safety and quality management systems, excellent work ethos with high levels of communication and productivity in-mind are paramount to success.’

SFI provided a great, prompt service with their staff going above and beyond to meet our needs and deadlines. With the Covid-19 pandemic all of Australia is facing, SFI are producing new and exciting innovations like the contactless Site Entry Hubs and their strive towards Zero Downtime really set us apart from our competitors.’
